N14 School for Children
with Impairment Issues

The volunteer will serve at a school near the city center of Yerevan. They will be involved in all programs and are encouraged to contribute their own ideas and suggestions. The volunteer will live and work closely with the local community, gaining valuable insights into Armenian culture. In addition to working with the children, the volunteer will have opportunities to spend free time with them and participate in discussions and seminars about the children's futures. They will be able to share their perspectives with parents and hospital staff. With the volunteer's assistance, the school will be able to organize more workshops where children, according to their health conditions, can engage in activities such as drawing, sculpting, singing, and dancing.

About The Project

Background

The school, founded in 1939, is unique in its use of the Braille system for education. It serves students from the regions of Armenia and the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, all of whom have varying degrees of visual impairments. Over the years, many graduates have successfully integrated into society, achieving success in various scientific fields thanks to the education they received. The school provides more than just academic instruction; it offers a safe and supportive environment for 11 years, enriching the lives of blind children. It also features various artistic groups, such as painting, dancing, singing, piano, and violin, allowing students to explore different forms of art. Additionally, the school offers professional training in areas like massage and computer skills. Students actively participate in inter-school educational Olympiads, often earning certificates and top honors.
